Today's zoological gardens primarily try to rebuild idyllic nature for their animals. How authentic is this artificial pristinity when their wild habitats are constantly influenced and invaded by humans? Driven by this question the artist duo manipulated cages in the zoological garden Schönbrunn in Vienna. A sunken car in the compound of rhinoceroses or a barrel of poison in the aquarium demonstrate disturbing signals in our expectations of how nature, flora and fauna should be like. It is an experiment on the inscenation of nature.
